At a time of life when my primary concerns were maintaining a home and raising a family of four very young children, as a comfortably-well-off young married couple (doing all the things our social matrix cued us to do) the Universe threw us a curveball that blew my sense of place, of identity and of purpose out of the water, as it were. The Recession in Alberta ushered in a profound and sustained shift that has forever changed my world view. And which propelled me, albeit kicking and screaming, to re-examine everything I had taken for granted.
Since that moment in time, I have led a more conscious, self-aware existence. Tracked my footprints. As fate would have it, I met a student of Vedanta philosophy, and through that portal I went on to explore Ayurvedic medicine, Sakti yoga philosophy and earn a Masters Degree in Transpersonal Studies at the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology. I found my spiritual home in Yasodhara Yoga, studied and taught for that lineage for two decades, and then, half a dozen years ago, spread my wings to a new chapter as a memoirist and now blogger! Never a dull moment!
The journey continues to challenge, enrich and surprise me, and I hope you’ll come along for the ride.
My goal is to foster a lively and thought-provoking dialogue. I invite you to share your responses to my posts via personal emails (you know how to find me) or via contributing to the comments box. Thanks for coming along.
